performance groups
L'École de danse de Québec regularly receives requests for one or more choreographies during various events, conventions, performances and community outreach activities. The recreational division's performance groups are regularly called upon to perform a large repertoire including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Swing and Can Can, while students of the professional division most often perform in classical ballet and contemporary dance.
For more information concerning the availability of one of the school’s performance groups, contact Joëlle Turcotte, Head of the Recreational Division and Manager of Corporate Productions. by audition. The group performs an extended repertoire covering a wide
range of styles from early jazz to urban dance, and including
Charleston, Swing, Can-Can, Flamenco and Latin dance styles. Tendanse Jazz
members perform at corporate functions, public events, festivals and
theme parties. Members of the group are required to attend two jazz
dance classes and at least one rehearsal per week. Extra rehearsal

THE JAZZM JUNIOR JAZZ DANCE TROUPE
Founded in 2001, the JazzM
junior jazz dance troupe features young dancers 12 to 17 years of age,
in a repertory mainly composed of Jazz dance, musical theatre and Hip
Hop. The troupe provides passionate young dancers with a number of
performance opportunities including public events, festivals and
community outreach activities. Weekly dance classes and choreographic
workshops evolve in a respectful and pleasant atmosphere. Members of
the troupe, selected by audition at the beginning of each school year,
improve their performance skills as they build their confidence and
self-esteem, provide entertainment and contribute to the development of
the art of dance. JazzM members attend at least one technique
class and one rehearsal each week. Extra rehearsal time is added as
needed for specific events.
THE SENIOR hip hop TROUPE
The latest addition to the school’s performance groups is the Alpha Crew Hip
Hop troupe founded in 2006. Composed of advanced level Hip Hop students
selected by audition, it is headed by Brigitte Méthot, an
award-winning choreographer who creates exciting pieces which
blend Hip Hop and contemporary dance. The group's dancers are
available to perform in a variety of events and venues. Alpha Crew members
attend at least one technique class and one rehearsal each week. Extra
rehearsal time is added as needed to prepare for specific events.
