social implication and oUTREACH INITIATIVES
L'École de danse de Quebec's mission of excellence extends well beyond the training of dance professionals. Through its various programs, performances and outreach initiatives, the school brings dance to underprivileged youth and aids the development of the art form. Moreover, the school contributes to the physical and emotional well being of its students as it encourages the emergence of highly desirable personal attributes. This is particularly true for its younger students, for whom the study of dance instils qualities and attitudes which can benefit their entire lives, whichever career path they ultimately choose.
Scholarship Fund
Since the introduction of its Scholarship Fund in 1994, L'École de danse de Québec has helped to render dance education accessible to all motivated and talented youth. The fund answers the needs of young dancers who qualify for the Accès-Danse program (recreational division) or the Danse-Études program (professional division), by providing partial or full scholarships to those whose parents are unable to meet the added financial burden.
FUNDRAISING
The Scholarship Fund is maintained through a number of fundraising campaigns and activities. Since its inception, the fund has contributed over $73,000 towards the training of talented young dancers admitted to the Danse-Études program and over $20,000 for disadvantaged youth eligible for the Accès-Danse program.
As a registered non-profit organization, L'École de danse de Québec provides official tax receipts for donations received. All contributions to the Scholarship Fund are greatly appreciated.
