social implication
Over the years, L'École de danse de Québec has drawn over 20,000 young people to its activities. Each new season, more than 900 children, teens and adults register for, or are admitted to, the school's various classes and programs, and dozens of graduates of the post-secondary level professional training program in contemporary dance have had, or currently enjoy successful careers in the field of dance.
Regrettably, the majority of low-income families are unable to provide their children with an opportunity for personal and professional development through dance. In order to help talented youth fulfil their artistic potential through dance, L'École de danse de Québec maintains a Scholarship Fund which provides financial assistance for children of the Accès-Danse program associated with the recreational division and the Danse-Études program associated with the professional division.
The Scholarship Fund is maintained through a number of fundraising campaigns and activities. Since its inception, it has contributed over $73,000 towards the training of talented young dancers admitted to the Danse-Études program, and over $20,000 for disadvantaged youth eligible for the Accès-Danse program.
As a registered non-profit organization, L'École de danse de Québec provides official tax receipts for donations received. All contributions to the Scholarship Fund are greatly appreciated.
For more information concerning applications to the scholarship fund, see Scholarship Fund in the High school dance and academic program (professional division) or contact the school.
