CHILDREN’S and teenager’s SUMMER DANCE CAMP
For over 20 years, L’École de danse de Québec has been hosting an annual Children’s Summer Dance Camp during three weeks in June and July. Classes run Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch hours can be spent out of doors, under the supervision of L’EDQ staff. For the benefit of working parents, the school also provides supervision from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Children and young teens, 7 to 14 years of age, have four dance classes per day except Wednesday, which provides a half or a full-day of outdoor or cultural activities. The Children’s Summer Dance Camp introduces beginners to theatrical dance through the Initiation program, while more advanced dancers hone their skills through the Immersion program. Classes include classical ballet, funky jazz, hip-hop, Irish jig or tap, musical theatre, African dance and a creative workshop. Summer Dance Camp participants also showcase their skills at the final presentation, which is held in a local theatre the last evening.
Specific dates for the next Children's Summer Dance Camp can be found in the Events Calendar.
